Daphnee Charles visited HTF partners in the US in March 2012 with another HELP student, Theodule Jean-Baptiste. Daphnee recently passed along an update about what she is doing now:
I have been employed by Panos Caribbean as a consultant leading community workshops on biodiversity and Climate change subjects. I volunteered with Panos in February doing environmental education for teenagers during an excursion to the National Park “ La Visite” in jacmel. Back to Haiti in April, the regional Director asked me to work for Panos in a project that aims to help people from areas affected by the earthquake to rebuild while considering environmental impacts of such constructions. I started in April and I already made many field trips to several rural areas leading workshops with community leaders. I love what I am doing, I like the subjects, the people I am working for/with and I am traveling a lot within Haiti which is fascinating.
